Your contribution as a guest writer not only offers an open opportunity to network with like-minded bloggers, but also inspire and impact the world of travel and leisure.

Our Destinations blog values your knowledge and travel experiences. By becoming a guest writer you're sharing insights, tips & trends, stories about places and vacations you've experienced. Whether it's travel hacks, adventure or leisure, your contributions may just inspire and guide readers in their planning and decisions about activities and where to visit. Please

 read this entire guidelines page. Pitches and Blog post requests that do not adhere to these guidelines will not be considered.
 

Who these guidelines apply to?

These guest blogger guideline  only applies to guest bloggers; Freelancer pitches will be ignored. Guest bloggers are not compensated financially for posts, nor do we require a fee to publish your guest posts on our Destinations blog.

Neither are these guidelines for companies seeking to sponsor blog posts about products or services. The following guidelines are for individuals requesting to write for us by sharing their stories, travel experiences and advice as a guest blogger. Individual writers interested in boosting their writing portfolio or visibility should consider guest posting on Destinations.
 

Benefits of guest posting on Destinations:

  • Byline: Author’s names are published above posts along with a brief bio and link back to your social media.

  • Guest bloggers can add Destinations to their writing portfolio: Destinations is growing and in time project monthly traffic above 1M and a 40+ domain authority (DA).

  • Do-follow link(s) to one external website*: 1-3 dofollow links to 1-2 pieces of content on your own website; Client’s website is prohibited. Link placements are not guaranteed. Links not leading to relevant high-quality sites will be removed. In short, (1) dofollow backlink allowed providing it meets all conditions under our guest post guidelines.

  • Guest bloggers get a pro profile and editor who will edit your blog post if needed

Company Pitches
  • Companies and competitors travel blogs are not accepted. Guest blogging on Destinations is for individual creators only.

Relevant data and images
  • Images uses, posts of and claims: Please include accurate credits and data from sources.

  • All photos/charts must be relevant to posts. These should be your own or creations taken by you. Stock photos are prohibited in articles. If you must use such, only submit your written blog article and request photos be added. Screenshots must be accompanied by sources and links.

Post length requirement
  • Posts must be between 1,500 – 3,000 words long.

Citated data
  • Proper attribution required when including external data, quotes, etc.

Link guidelines
  • Dofollow external link: 1-3 dofollow links to Guest bloggers website or blog are allowed (they must link to the same or one website only). Do not use dofollow links to another company's website or a blog not owned by you. Any blog posts/link to a third-party blog, attempting to place such links on Destination's pages (are in violation of this policy and will be automatically removed.)

  • Internal links: 2-5 links must be included pointing to other relevant blog posts on Destination's blog.

  • External nofollow links: It is recommended you include 2-5 links that leads to relevant content outside of Destinations that is not the gust bloggers blog. These links are reputable and relevant with domain authority (DA) of at least 40.

  • Please note: External links may be changed or removed at Destinations discretion. We monitor link-building schemes which are not allowed.

 
Duplicate content
  • Posts are checked periodically for duplication. Please do not submit posts that were published elsewhere. If you submitted one for publishing on Destinations and it was authorized and published, is should not be republished anywhere else online. If matching portions are found with any other content elswhere, that post will be removed.

Post visibility
  • All posts resides on Destinations in perpetuity unless removed.


Content Guidelines

Please view and read Destination's posts to see what is expected.

keep in mind the following:

  • Posts that are between (1,500 – 3,000 words), relevant topics.

  • Write clear intro's and endings.

  • Use catchy headers when organizing your blog posts.

  • Include lists (numbered or bulleted).

  • Keyword density (pay close attention).

  • Use short sentences and paragraphs.

  • Keep readers in mind offering value, and remember search engines

Double check your work. Use Grammar tools to check basic errors. Although we will screen through all blog posts before they are published, our team will not put too much effort into editing major errors.
 

Submitting your pitch

Do not send pitches via email; fill our contributor form here. Read on:

  1. If a tip/trend etc., was already covered it will not be approved and published.

  2. Publications are NOT guaranteed until approved. If the writing does not meet our standards it will be rejected.

Please note:

  • All submitted posts must be pitched using the contributer form unless you're a member guest post writer.

  • No follow up is needed. We read all submitted pitches and written blogs. If you do not hear back from us within seven (3-4) days, assume your guest blog story was not accepted; either way, we will respond. Email inquiries will be ignored.

Our process:

Once we receive your blog post pitch, here is what happens:

  1. You'll get an email using the email address submitted, and request you write the post or based on your experience and content forward information on hot to become a post member.

  2. Or, there won't be a response after 3-4 days have passed assuming it did not meet our guidelines/content requirements. You may however, pitch a different blog story.

If asked to write the blog post:

  • Timelines are 1 to 4 days, or a schedule that works for you. 

  • Once submitted, we'll review it and may ask for additional edits.

  • If a round of edits are exhausted and the blog post does not meet our requirements after those rounds, it will likely be rejected.

  • If content matches in part or in full published articles online or anywhere else, your post will be rejected.
